Como recibir notificaciones vía email de actualizaciones para sistema operativo Linux ( Distribuciones basadas en Red Hat )

A continuación describiré un buen tip para administradores de servidores bajo sistema operativo Linux ( RHEL , CentOS , Fedora , Mandriva o cualquier distribución basada en Red Hat ) este consiste en activar en YUM notificaciones al correo electrónico de cuando existan actualizaciones disponibles para instalar .

De esta manera mantendrás tu sistema operativo actualizado , es muy útil para la administración de servidores remotos . 

Para lograrlo se debe configurar lo siguiente en /etc/yum/yum-updatesd.conf

emit_via = email

# who to send the email to:

email_to = administrador@zethabyte.com

# who send the notifications

email_from = administradorSO@zethabyte.com

Seguidamente reiniciamos el demonio :

/etc/init.d/yum-updatesd restart

Y listo , llegaran las notificaciones a tu correo electrónico, el mensaje lo visualizaras de la siguiente manera :

    python
